New Upgrades to the SPARTAN Bulkhead
Raytec is excited to introduce the latest upgrades to the SPARTAN Bulkhead, delivering enhanced efficacy, greater flexibility, and a smarter design. While the core performance remains consistent, these updates ensure that the SPARTAN Bulkhead continues to set new standards for Zone 1 and Zone 2 hazardous area lighting.
Improved Efficacy for Greater Efficiency
One of the key advancements in the upgraded SPARTAN Bulkhead is its improved efficacy, now reaching up to 158lm/w in Zone 2 applications. This means users can achieve a similar lumen output while benefiting from lower power consumption, reducing energy costs, and improving overall efficiency.
Enhanced Flexibility with New Beam Patterns
The latest SPARTAN Bulkhead upgrade introduces new beam pattern options, including wide beam and asymmetric distributions. These additions provide even greater flexibility in lighting design, ensuring that illumination is optimised for a range of applications without compromising safety or visibility.

In use cases such as exit signage, these new beam patterns ensure doors are clearly visible and easy to locate. To support this, the 140×140 optic offers a new standard angle used in conjunction with exit sign kits—replacing the previously used 120×50. This wider angle significantly enhances the visibility of exit signage, making it easier to guide occupants during emergency situations.
Smarter Design with an Updated Light Engine
We have also updated the product with a new light engine, further enhancing its efficiency and overall performance. This upgraded design follows the same proven design principles as the Linear light engine—ensuring consistency, and reliability across our product range.
