Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation
INTRODUCTION
At Raytec, we are committed to reducing the environmental impact of our packaging and to meeting our obligations under the Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (Regulation (EU) 2025/40). This policy sets out our approach to PPWR compliance.
SCOPE
This policy applies to the packaging used for Raytec products placed on the market within the European Union. Packaging requirements under other jurisdictions are addressed separately and are not covered by this policy.
WHAT IS PPWR
The Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation is European Union law that sets harmonised requirements for the design, labelling and recyclability of packaging placed on the EU market and applies directly across all EU Member States without the need for separate national implementation.
The Regulation requires producers to design packaging that can be recycled, minimise unnecessary packaging material, provide clear information to support correct sorting and disposal, including through digital means such as QR codes, register under Extended Producer Responsibility schemes in the relevant Member States, and demonstrate conformity through a Declaration of Conformity in accordance with Article 39 and Annex VIII of the Regulation. Certain provisions, including fully harmonised labelling standards, are being phased in over subsequent years.
OUR COMPLIANCE
Raytec has assessed the packaging used in its products against the requirements of PPWR. A copy of our current Declaration of Conformity, prepared in accordance with Article 39 and Annex VIII of Regulation (EU) 2025/40, is available here.
