2015 marks Raytec’s 10 year anniversary of lighting innovation in the security industry! To celebrate this occasion we hosted a milestone 10 Year International Platinum Partner Conference (IPPC). Held this October in Newcastle Upon Tyne, UK, we were delighted to be joined by 70 of our key partners from all over the world.

Since our last IPPC, lighting has become significantly smarter especially with Raytec’s development of the industry’s first IP addressable range of network illuminators – VARIO IP.

Conference attendees received first hand advice fromRaytec lighting experts on the latest advances in lighting for video surveillance, together with guidelines on how to get the most from their security systems. We shared cutting edge IP lighting integrations showcased by some of our technology partners. Practical demonstrations and hands-on workshops also allowed participants to learn how to configure dynamic IP lighting schemes, fully integrated with a range of other technologies to create smarter and more responsive security systems.

“The Raytec IPPC has become renowned as the premier lighting conference and training event in the security industry”,comments David Lambert, Managing Director (Joint).

“It is designed to bring security professionals together to learn about the latest lighting technologies. It is an opportunity to inspire our partners, whilst also gathering their feedback and giving them the chance to develop and share ideas with fellow professionals. It was wonderful to see so many people in one place talking about lighting.”

Raytec showcased a variety of new and upcoming lighting technologies and our vision for the future of lighting for surveillance. But the conference headline was the launch of the first ever Video Surveillance & Security Lighting Standard – ‘POWERS’ –designed to provide a standardised method for specifying and comparing all lighting products.

Historically, there has been no standard way to specify and compare different lighting products and their performance claims; ultimately causing confusion and potentially disappointment for customers.

Tony Whiting, Raytec’s Managing Director (Joint) and one of the pioneers of the POWERS standard shares his thoughts on its launch – “We are delighted to be the first manufacturer to tackle this head on by publishing an easy to use guide which outlines key criteria for you to consider when choosing and comparing any lighting product and partner.”

Raytec were proud to give conference attendees a valuable insight into the theory behind the new standard, and how it will help them achieve an accurate understanding of the performance of their lighting choices.

Tony goes on to say “We can also guarantee that the entire Raytec team is working hard to ensure that the standard becomes widely adopted and used for the benefit of everyone across the industry”.

We rounded off the conference with a Raytec style games night and by thanking every partner who has supportedRaytec over the last decade and shared in our passion for lighting. We were delighted to acknowledge and award a few special partner achievements which have contributed to the growth and success of Raytec – these were:
