Replace your Old Technology with LED – Free Guide

When specifying LED replacements for your traditional flood and bay luminaires, the most important factor to consider and compare is ‘delivered lumens’ i.e. the amount of useable light, discounting losses and wasted light. But traditional Ex light fittings are typically only around 60% efficient in transmitting useable light out of the luminaire, meaning that the delivered lumens can often be up to 40% less than quoted. In addition, consumption... Read More

IDENTIFYING ZONE 0, ZONE 1, AND ZONE 2 HAZARDOUS AREAS

A hazardous area can be defined as any location where there is risk of an explosion. But every hazardous area is different and each has specific requirements depending on the nature of the atmosphere and the elements that are present. Fundamentally, for an explosion to take place, flammable or explosive gases, vapours, mists or dusts will be present. WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN ATEX & IECEx CERTIFICATION?

ATEX or IECEx certified products are essential in any location that may contain, or has activities that produce explosive or potentially explosive atmospheres.
